Caregiver Life + Transforming My Life: Renovation in Real Time

If there’s one thing I’ve learned lately, it’s this: life doesn’t pause so you can “work on yourself.” It doesn’t give you the perfect season, the perfect timing, the perfect environment, or the perfect level of quiet. It hands you a full plate—sometimes overflowing—and says, “Okay, let’s see what you’re made of.”

And right now? I’m caregiving for my husband. I’m caregiving for an elderly dog who needs more gentleness and patience than ever. And I’m also building two online businesses full time after quitting DoorDash so I could stop treating my future like a side gig.

Some people would look at this and say, “This is too much. Maybe wait until things settle down before you try to transform your own life.”

But here’s the truth:
Things aren’t settling down. I’m transforming anyway.

This might help: A checklist for those of you who do it all! It’s a FREE downloadable PDF. Fill in the info below to get  your immediate access

The Caregiver Season No One Prepares You For

Caregiving changes the landscape of your days. Suddenly your schedule isn’t yours—it’s shared with doctor appointments, medications, mobility needs, emotional support, and the unpredictable moments that only caregivers understand.

You learn to move slower when you need to.
You learn to move faster when you must.
And you learn that patience is a muscle that grows the same way your biceps do—through resistance.

Add in an elderly, incontinent dog in diapers who needs help with simple tasks like getting up, going outside, or navigating the house, and suddenly you’re managing two fragile worlds at once… while still trying to keep your own world from collapsing.

This isn’t a complaint. This is reality. It’s love in motion. It’s devotion with a to-do list.
And it’s also the exact reason why my personal transformation matters more than ever.

Because if I don’t take care of me, none of this holds.

Quitting DoorDash Wasn’t Just a Career Shift—It Was a Mindshift

I had to make a decision:
Am I going to keep building someone else’s dream with gig work…
or finally build my own with intention?

So I quit DoorDashing. No more random hours. No more being exhausted from a job that didn’t move me closer to my goals.

Now I’m all in on my online businesses. Full time. No Plan B. It’s almost the new year, and it’s the year I build something real, lasting, and meaningful—for me and for the women who follow The Lisa Renee Project.

I call into existence the financial wall I built around my family that nothing can penetrate!

But again, life didn’t magically get easier just because I made a bold decision. If anything, the workload doubled. The responsibility tripled. The urgency got louder.

And still… here I am, building my transformation in the middle of the chaos, not after it.

Exercise and Eating Clean Are Non-Negotiable—Even When Imperfect

Every day, I carve out time—sometimes with a whisper of energy, sometimes with a roar—to lift weights, walk outdoors, or simply move on purpose. The workouts aren’t always beautiful. The meals aren’t always picture-perfect.

But they’re happening.

Because I refuse to give up the habits that hold my life together.

When you’re caregiving, it’s easy to let yourself slide to the bottom of the priority list.
But I’ve lived the version of life where you abandon yourself.
I know exactly where that road leads.

This time, I’m renovating the whole structure—from mindset to muscle to morning routines. To financial stability!

And the truth is:
I don’t owe perfection to anyone.
I owe consistency to myself.

Transformation Isn’t What Happens When Life Gets Easier… It’s What Happens When You Get Stronger

If you’re also in a season of caregiving, responsibility, or overwhelm, hear this:

You do not have to wait for a convenient season.
You do not have to wait until you have more time.
And you definitely do not have to wait until everything feels stable to begin transforming your life.

You can build strength in the cracks.
You can build discipline in the interruptions.
You can build a new life while caring for someone else’s.

That’s what I’m doing.
Day by day.
Rep by rep.
Choice by choice.

This is The Lisa Renee Project—renovation in real time.

And I’m just getting started.

With love,

~Lisa Renee
