Well, here it is…the 2nd day of December, and I’m beginning again. No more all or nothing. It never works.
Being all in or all out has NEVER served me well. I start and stop things too much. If I make one tiny misstep I throw up my hands and say, ‘fuck it’ and quit every good habit I created up to that point.
Now I’m taking a different approach. It’s called habit stacking. This is where I will add a new good habit each day until January 1. No more complete revamping of my lifestyle in one day. I have to admit it never will work for me.
So, I promise you, dear diary, I will take the smarter approach from now on.
If I mess up on something like eating something I shouldn’t or have some wine, I won’t stop completely. I won’t throw in the towel. Instead, I will give myself some grace and move on tomorrow. Tomorrow I will keep moving forward with all that I’ve created. All the good I am doing for myself.
I won’t stop because I had a hiccup. Nope. This is what must work for me since ‘all or nothing’ does not.
